Laying the Cornerstone of ISKCON

ISKCON which is growing organization was founded in 1966

In New York City by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami. Over the years, his little batch of students and his endeavour to spread the teachings of his Guru culminated in the formation of ISKCON.

The organization is founded on the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition, based on the core philosophies of Krishna. It holds the beliefs that consciousness is distinct from materialistic objects and is an element of the soul, which is possessed by every living being.

Srila Prabhupada intended ISKCON to propagate the association and education of bhakti-yoga practitioners. As of today, the ISKCON Temple, and the worldwide organization continue to achieve this as their life’s mission.
